Abstract

The protection of employees requires not only legal rules but also effective mechanisms to ensure their implementation, particularly through Labour Inspection. Labour inspectors play a key role in monitoring compliance with labour legislation and protecting employees’ rights. Their functions include both legal supervision and the provision of information, advice, and assistance in the amicable settlement of labour disputes. This dual role raises issues concerning the balance between supervision and conciliation, especially regarding impartiality and the limits of the inspector’s intervention. This study examines the supervisory and conciliatory functions of Labour Inspection and their impact on employment relationships. It also explores how these functions can contribute to preventing labour disputes, protecting employees, and promoting stability in the workplace.
