Abstract

This study examines freedom of expression in Mauritania by exploring its constitutional and legal foundations and assessing the reality of its exercise in light of the political, legislative, and institutional developments that the country has experienced. The significance of this subject stems from the fundamental position occupied by freedom of expression as one of the essential pillars of a democratic system, as well as a key means of political participation, the promotion of pluralism, and the protection of human rights.
